Winter Green farm is seeking an experienced farmer to manage our Community Supported Agriculture harvest crew.
CSA Manager Responsibilities:
Know what crops are in the field and their placement
Coordinate excess crop amounts with Wholesale manager 2-3 weeks in advance
Create boxes (looking three weeks ahead)
Organize the weekly harvest
Run and train the harvest crew
Make sure that the crew is working safely, and efficiently
Check in to make sure harvest is done appropriately
Keep track of harvest times
Keep accurate and up to date records on harvests (on harvest tally sheets)Manage the processing of the harvest)
Make sure processing is done efficiently and appropriately
Make sure that all processing and harvest supplies are well stocked, inform owners of needs well in advance of running out
Organization and tidiness of the coolers
All food safety guidelines are being followedGet coolers set up for boxing coordinator
Getting the harvest numbers to the boxing coordinator
Make certain that all clean up is done at the end of the day, plug in forklift, lights off, check and record cooler temps (see clean up policy form).
Overseeing the quality of work by each crew member
Providing feedback and information to owners
Give planning hours ours to owners
Coordinate with CSA office manager delivery numbers, extra product to drop off at sites, harvest list
This is a full time position and is currently open . Compentstion includes Hourly wage DOE, farm produce, paid sick leave, paid vacation after one season.
