Hello! We are Thomas and Geneva Fairman with our 7-month old daughter Eleanor, thanks for checking out our listing.
We are up-and-coming farmers in our 30’s ready to work hard and either support an existing business/vision you have in place, or start something from scratch.
Thomas is currently completing a 1 year organic farming internship with Food Waves and has 5+ years of small business experience including online marketing, in-person event production and delivery. We are hungry to get into farming, and have enough knowledge and support to get started, but would appreciate mentorship.
We are looking for somewhere we can live while growing our farm experience. We are currently living on 0.6 acres in Beaverton Oregon, with a garden growing kale, chard, collards, beets, carrots, lettuce and squash. We have 3 chickens. We do not have experience with livestock but are interested in learning in that domain.
Please let us know if you would be interested in having a conversation.
Thank you for your time,
Thomas & Geneva with Eleanor Fairman

Thomas currently interns on a multi-acre organic market farm (Converging Creeks LLC) in Colton, OR part-time. Primarily growing arugula, lettuce, romaine, spinach, as well as brassicas, squashes, tomatoes, 140 chickens and more on a 6 acre property.
Drip irrigation. Harrow, low-till. Seeding, including vacuum. Singulating. High tunnel and field work. All organic. Dealing with moles, cabbage looper, flea beetles, root aphid, mice and other pests. Weekly farmers market. Post-harvest processing, handling and sales.
Also growing a small scale home garden/farm producing herbs, chard, collards, kale, lettuce, carrots, beets, green onions, aloe vera, acorn squash, tomatoes.
We want to find a place to lease/rent etc for the next couple of years to gain farming experience, establish a foothold in a community, and get to live on and manage land.
We realize that successful business endeavors take time to establish a product-market fit and see the next few years as the first phase of a longer project (see long term plans)
Our long term vision is to establish a retreat center/lodge with small dwellings for guests and events. This center will have a farm servicing the events and teaching people about the benefits of organic/alternative farming methods, while attracting a level of tourism as an additional revenue stream.
We understand that the short-term plans and the long-term plans may require two different properties, so if your property does not look like the above, please do not think that we are not interested. We recognize that to fulfill on a vision of the scope described above will take time and experience and funding which we will be acquiring over the next few years.
We are looking for a property with housing for our small family - 1 BR in our own separate building with hot water and a full kitchen desired. That said, we are open to alternative solutions as well as setting up something as a part of our arrival.
We come to be of service to the community - we promise to listen to whatever is needed and wanted. We are open to diverse background and lifestyles and do not judge or exclude people based on these things. We are both mixed race (Thomas Hispanic and Geneva Chinese) and have experience with cultural diversity.
