Urban farm looking for larger, rural farm land and buildings for lease; seeking land in western OR.

Land Seeker Description

We run a family farm currently in the suburbs of Portland. Our staples are gourmet mushrooms and microgreens and we also grow starters for garden variety crops and sell garden variety produce and herbs in greenhouses. We are looking to lease property that has a residence, barn or other enclosed space with utilities and at least 2 acres to support raised beds, greenhouse/ hoop house and potentially a chicken coup for eggs for our immediate growth requirements.

We are a growing farm looking to expand into areas of regenerative cattle grazing and some orchard fruits and would ideally settle into an area with ~20 acres that can support a small herd of ruminants (probably a miniature cattle breed available to us from a friendly WA farm). Mushroom farming is done indoors for the most part so any additional buildings or land with the ability to add fruiting rooms for future expansion would be ideal.

Open to all areas of the PNW with rain.

What features of the property are essential?

water, electricity, utility connections to property. Existing structures are ideal or the ability to build to suite. seasonal rain. Grass for grazing.

Describe your farming experience

We have been growing mushrooms, microgreens, herbs, fruits and vegetables on about 1.5 acres using indoor facilties for a mushroom spawning lab, incubation, fruiting room and microgreens. We had 20x60ft greenhouse with a deep culture aquaponics setup but the county made us take it down...we now have 3 10x20 ft greenhouses with raised beds growing herbs, vegetables and flowers.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Aquire all necessary permits and licenses
Raise our mushroom and microgreen production to 200 lbs per week.
Bring green house production into weekly and monthly harvest cycles for herbs and flowers
Culture sellable fish with aquaponics system also supporting hydroponic plants
chicken coup for eggs
start a cattle herd

What are your long term goals

Mushrooms and microgreens near 400lbs a week
nearly automated greenhouse production
nearly automated aquaponic production
fruit trees and grain
regenerative cattle herd - license and distribution to sell grass fed beef and poultry

Describe your housing needs

If the property is within 1 hour commute of Portland we can keep our residence and lease nearby farmland. We are willing to relocate for the right land and would require a household of 4 people to go farther from the area.
