Small family looking to lease 4-20 acres near river/fresh water. Lane County. Willamette Valley. Multnomah County. Jackson County

Land Seeker Description

A little bit about us. We’ve been working in Hollywood, CA for the past 20 years and are looking to move our small family to some farm land in Oregon by Oct. 1st 2020 (flexible). One of us is a backyard gardener and a wannabe farmer 🙂 Our interest is in living and growing on land for a few years to learn and practice for the dream of one day owning a farm inn & tavern. We would also work remotely on the land as freelance artists. My partner is a classical music composer and my focus is in directing and design. We want to grow vegetables, fruit, herbs and raise a couple pigs (friends), sheep (friends + cheese), chickens (friends + eggs), and maybe one horse (friend).

A leasing arrangement is perfect for our needs at this time as we hope to buy our own land when we’re ready.

– We’d welcome some mentoring from the farm owner if they’d like to, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
– We’re vegetarians and would not be a good fit for animal-farming properties.
– We’re a total of 5 people; 4 family members and one friend to help w/ farm and animals. ie; a small house/cottage with a garage
– A barn and a shed, or permission to build these structures
– Permission for a livable airstream trailer on our part of the land
– Permission to build a small greenhouse

What features of the property are essential?

Fresh water, river/creek onsite, or nearby
On-site private well
Permission to build: Barn, Shed, Greenhouse
