Seeking trade-lease, mentorship, work, lease-to-own, partnership

Land Seeker Description

  1. I am a 23 year old graduate from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in horticulture. I have had three years of farming/nursery/greenhouse/some animal husbandry experience on top of my schooling, ranging from a large-scale wholesale nursery in Yamhill county, to a 30-acre organic farm-to-table bed and breakfast growing dozens of veggies and fruit trees, tending to the vineyard, and taking care of alpacas and goats.
  1. I have been cultivating a path to realize my vision for acquiring my own land through a partnership to amalgamate a truly sustainable farmstead retreat business, where ultimately people will be able to come stay, rejuvenate, heal and educate themselves through various plant medicines, nutritional equilibrium through the food we’ll grow and provide,  soaking in the healing energy of Mother Nature, as well as a space for interpersonal and spiritual growth and exploration. I am passionate about turning this vision into a reality, and have made many sacrifices and steps towards realizing this dream. I believe with the right connections, that I am here to make a difference in fostering a community that lives in a true and humble symbiosis with the Earth. I’m read to commit to the first concrete step in making this a reality.

What are your short term goals for the land

Short term plans are to engage in a partnership, an educational work-trade-learn agreement of sorts with an experienced farmer who is dedicated to extending his/her land and resources to me in the mutual furthering of our goals so that within 5 years I can be able to seriously start cultivating what I've set out to create in life. I wish to continue saving money, while using the good money I have now to steer me towards realizing this potential.

What are your long term goals

The focus of my long-term goal with this is to have as diverse of a farm as I possibly can by safely and consciously tending to and/or amending the soil and land to the best of my ability and knowledge in order to successfully integrate a holistic methodology of a truly diverse array of crops into the farm retreat. From medicinal herbs to produce to fruit trees, to nuts, to mushrooms, to livestock, to bees, and beyond. I want to eventually be able to integrate this farm into a business of healing through onsite workshops on herbalism, plus perhaps culinary and nutritional classes, educational and healing retreats (yoga, meditation, sound healing, etc) for all. My ideas are endless, but seeing some first steps grounded through to fruition is where I need to begin.

Describe your housing needs

I can live in a tent if necessary. I have lots of experience roughing it on farms, but do enjoy and prefer my own clean space if possible. Just need access to a kitchen and bathroom and Bed and I'm good to go.
