I’m a small scale flower grower (specializing in flowers that dry well) with a small herd of milking goats who has founded and run a small scale farming/value added product business focusing on thoughtful eco-friendly giving for all of life’s seasons. The welfare of the animals in my care is of utmost importance to me, seeking a barn in good repair, hay storage space, pasture land, history of land use. Require workshop/flower drying/packing space, place for tiny house(s), greenhouses. Seeking farmland zoned agricultural with water rights (or municipal water) to buy or long term lease (at least 15 years with an option to purchase) to farm regeneratively/organically. Focusing on perennial flowers and herbs, with space desired for annuals. Desire to put in rainwater catchment, solar, and be an epicenter within the community for sustainable living/farming/growing. In my wildest dreams would LOVE a place to gather.. a mini event center or barn as venue.
water rights
proper zoning
barn
workshop
good soil for flower growing
land that has known history without pesticides
place for a tiny home or two
I worked as a farm crew member at a certified organic farm for several years before renting my own plot on the farm to grow my own crop. This is the third year of having my own space to grow, but we are looking to move closer to family and grow my business. In order to do that, we need infrastructure and more room.
Plant perennials, get infrastructure in order to ensure harvest of flowers and smooth transition from the land I'm currently on. Grow our goat herd. Apply for USDA grant to grow my business (working with consultant now to prepare).
Become an epicenter for regenerative farming/sustainable living. A place for education and a community hub.
Small home and/or place for a tiny home or two.
Respectfully learning about other people, their experiences and beliefs while honoring each other's sovereignty is key. I will continue my education on how to be a conscious ally, and practice what I learn by being welcoming and inclusive. I am currently a graduate student in a program that also teaches effective allyship, community building and how to bring ideas and people together into new forms of consensus and relationship.
