My wife and I are seasoned entrepreneurs with 20 years of experience building successful businesses, we are now channeling our passion and skills into agriculture. My extensive background in marketing, e-commerce, and professional photography provides a unique foundation for creating a profitable, marketing-savvy farm operation from day one. This business acumen is complemented by dedicated, hands-on agricultural training, including intensive study and practical experience on a working farm. I am seeking a long-term partnership with a landowner to steward their land and build a thriving, sustainable organic market garden.
Our goal is to establish a highly productive 1-2 acre market garden focused on growing a diverse range of vegetables in permanent, no-till beds. The cornerstone of this operation will be soil health, which we will build through compost, cover cropping, and organic amendments. To ensure year-round viability, the plan includes building a greenhouse for propagation and utilizing high tunnels for season extension.
Our primary needs are a reliable water source sufficient for a 1-2 acre market garden and access to electricity. Ideally, the property would also have existing structures we could improve—such as a barn space for a wash/pack station and an enclosed area for a walk-in cooler. We are fully prepared to invest in outfitting these spaces, but having a suitable structure to start with would significantly accelerate our path to profitability.
I grew up on a horse farm and have raised vegetables my whole life. In the past year, I've been extensively studying modern organic farm methods and working on friends' farms.
The first year will be highly concentrated on creating the permanent beds and building soil life. Our goal is to sell our vegetables online, at local farmers market(s), and potentially via CSA. We'll likely start out with ~one acre planted and slowly grow from there. Within 1-2 years, we'd like to have a greenhouse and high tunnels in place.
Due to the extensive time and monetary investment in the permanent beds, we'd like to either have a long term lease agreement or the ability to purchase the property long term.
We currently live in Portland and don't need to live on the land.
Creating a safe and welcoming environment is a core principle of our farm. We believe a farm is healthiest when it reflects the diversity of its community. We will enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against discrimination and will be intentional about making our farm a welcoming space for people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and backgrounds. This commitment will be reflected in our inclusive marketing, our efforts to ensure equitable access to the food we grow, and our active partnerships within the community. Our goal is to steward a piece of land where everyone feels respected, safe, and valued.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
