We’re a family of four humans, a dog, two cats, and soon a small herd of three alpacas. We’re looking for lease to cash. My husband works from home and frankly I just can’t take suburban life any more.
My Alpaca Mentor is in Mollala and I go visit her weekly but I’m ready to have my boys in my own property, with her near by if I find myself in a situation that I need assistance with. I need at least an acre for my boys.
We’re also going to start growing the majority of our vegetables at home. So it would be nice to have a 1/4 of an acre dedicated to a garden patch.
I absolutely need a barn. I don't need a large one, a three stall is more than enough. But it absolutely need one. Fenced pasture would be great but we're always willing to fence it ourselves. On-site sewer so we can use the bathroom (hopefully one that doesn't cause nightmares)
I've had a vegetable patch ever since I could walk. I started the daycare that I worked with on their own vegetable plot to use as a classroom.
I've been working with horses ever since I was six. Graduated to running an 80 acre horse farm.
Now I'm working with Alpacas with my Mentor down in Mollala
Establishing my herd of Alpacas and getting back into vegetable farming.
Ideally with the Alpacas I'll have six by the end of five years. Selling their fiber and excrement. But my main goal is to work with them to become therapy animals.
With the vegetables I need to regain my experience with growing them in a different climate other than Texas. We certainly never got this much rain. Living in a duplex doesn't give me much room to do what I want.
In Five to Ten years I'll have my herd officially established and working with the community. I'll be getting my llc to open other revenue options with the Alpacas.
Vegetable wise we'll have nailed down what we're doing and may be able to make a small profit with a farm stand.
Ideally we need a three bed / one and a half bath small house. My husband needs a dedicated office space and I refuse to share a bathroom any more. If I want a bath I don't need someone on the toilet with me.
I still have nightmares. Don't make me go through that again.
