I am seeking to lease land approximately 20-60 miles from Portland for the purpose of establishing a three-site campground for hipcamp.com. The theme of the campground would be off-grid greenhouse gardening.
We are interested in a year-long lease at $500 -$1,000/monthly with maximum acreage and/or natural amenities.
According to their website, “Hipcamp is a growing community of good-natured people and the most comprehensive resource for unique outdoor stays. By connecting people with the land and each other, Hipcamp works to support those who care for the land and get more people out under the stars.”
Each of the three sites would have a polyethylene hoop house covering a growing area and a canvas wall tent or straw bale shelter. Energy for heating, cooking and refrigeration would be provided with propane. Black plastic water barrels inside each hoop house would serve as a heat sink. Any electricity would be solar. Composting toilets would be used for human waste. Water would be supplied by an onsite water source or rainwater harvesting.
The goal is to generate income throughout the year by providing campers a unique educational experience in off-grid greenhouse gardening.
The leesees would be six individuals (three couples) from Portland who would occupy one of the three sites on a continuous, rotating basis. Their on-site presence would ensure the efficient operation of the property and the provision of customer service for campers. Besides Hipcamp, other higher income-generating opportunities that require attentive on-site management, such as free range small animal husbandry, would be seriously considered.
We can work with any property type.
Develop a sustainable income-generating property through the use of temporary and semi-permanent structures.
Duplicate this model elsewhere in Oregon for residents to adapt to this changing economic environment.
We will provide our housing or make use of any dwelling currently on the property.
