Seeking to Buy or Lease-to-own property for Permaculture farming and Eco-home construction

?

Land Seeker Description

We’re a family of 5 that would love to steward and develop a slightly sloping parcel of land not too far from an urban center. We dream of building our own eco-friendly off-grid tiny homes and growing a sustainable and productive landscape.

What features of the property are essential?

Water rights!
Would love to have some woodland + some pasture.
A creek and/or ponds.
Need zoning to build several tiny homes for multi-generational family.
Mild to moderately sloped, no boggy flatland.

No

What are your short term goals for the land

Manage and optimize existing crops, products and farming business, using non toxic/organic practices.
Make a full assessment of water sources and irrigation needs on the property in order to maximize watershed and water holding capacity.
Identify the natural ecosystem and develop an integrative plan to protect and preserve those resources.

What are your long term goals

Medicinal herbal farm and mushrooms for wholesale.
Small batch cider production.
Beekeeping with an array of honey/beeswax based products.
To operate a profitable farm sustainably with permaculture techniques.
To build small eco friendly structures and spaces that allow us to live close to the land with a small environmental footprint.

Describe your housing needs

We're a family of 3 adults and 2 teens. It would be nice to have some living space/structure in place, but regardless, we're considering buying a couple rv trailers as short term housing, until we can construct permanent homes from natural materials.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

By treating everyone the way I want to be treated: with courtesy and respect. My background is extremely diverse.
