Hello! I am a Waldorf preschool teacher and am looking for a summer work trade situation for my family for July through mid-late August. My husband has worked for a local farm for the past 2 years in different capacities, harvesting, production, animal care, light carpentry. My 4 daughters attend a farm school and are used to being on the farm every day and working in the garden and they love being involved in animal care. We do not require much as far as space goes, just a clean spot with basic amenities. We would like to spend the summer on a farm for a possible work trade and get hands on experience for a taste of daily farm life. I am a fiber enthusiast, so working with fiber animals would be a plus!
basic living amenities. ok with composting toilet.
I have done backyard gardening. I worked at a Waldorf Farm school program last year as their 1 st grade teacher where my class was responsible for taking care of chicks, meat chickens and ducks, mucking and feed. My 4 girls attend this school, and regularly muck coops weekly and they also work in the farm garden as part of their Land Stewardship class.
My dream is to purchase a farm eventually to have a fiber farm, and I would like to have my family experience farm life and gain real world experience on a farm, particularly with animal care with preference for sheep and alpaca. But open to gaining new skills outside of that as well.
To own a fiber farm as a business and homestead.
We would need either a yurt or small 2 bedroom house to house our family.
