Seeking rental home / rent to own on land for beginner farmers

Land Seeker Description

Young married couple with one son, three dogs, and currently have duck & quail.

We are seeking farm land to continue organic farming, and raising organic poultry to offer eggs & meat. I am a professional dog trainer and my husband is a pastor in McMinnville, so we need to have land in yamhill co that is not too far from our church campus.

What features of the property are essential?

Home on site, clean water, electricity, barn or outbuilding or some kind that is appropriate for dogs to live in during hot or cold weather. A garage is acceptable as we can heat & cool this space. Certified organic land.

Describe your farming experience

I have been raised in Yamhill co where farming is just a way of life that runs in your veins. I’ve just begun farming hands on this year, and I am more excited than I’ve ever been! I spend every day researching and learning more about farming practices. I would love to be mentored by someone if that is an option but I also have any farmers in my personal sphere who are a continued support to this journey for our family!

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Short term plans are to continue raising duck and quail for meat and egg sales, and possibly to add dairy goats or a cow to provide for our family.

I am also a dog trainer who will be offer training on site.

What are your long term goals

The long term plan to for our family to be self sustained from our farmland & to provide affordable organic meat, eggs, and dairy to the community.

We believe God will lead us and bless our efforts in farming and serving.

We are excitedly waiting on Him to bring to fruition the opportunity to live out the passion for farming, and serving our community, that He has placed on our hearts.

Our long term plans are always open to what God calls us to do.

Describe your housing needs

3bd / 2ba is preferred. We could make due with a 2bd/ 1ba as long as there is space to house dogs outside in a garage or barn!

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

We live to serve others. We do everything we can to ensure people feel welcome, loved, and respected in every interaction we have with them.
