My partner, Courtney, and I have over a decade of experience in backyard gardening and maximizing the use of limited spaces to grow beautiful flowers and fresh produce. Our journey in urban agriculture has cultivated a deep passion for sustainable farming and a desire to expand our efforts to a larger piece of land.
Courtney brings a wealth of hands-on experience to our endeavor. She has worked for more than five years on a Christmas tree farm in Ohio, where she gained valuable insights into large-scale farming operations. Additionally, her time spent WWOOFing on a blueberry farm has broadened her expertise in organic farming practices and sustainable agriculture. Currently, Courtney works at a unique bakery and farm called Horai, where she continues to hone her skills in both agriculture and artisanal food production. She enjoys spending time baking and cooking with food from our local farmers market cultivating beautifully nutritious food.
As for me, I am actively involved in our local agricultural community. I work at the farmer’s market, where I have developed strong connections with local farmers and a deep understanding of the market dynamics. Moreover, I am engaged with a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing fresh, local farm produce to our community and advocating for food security and local agriculture. My passion for community gardening began when I lived in apartments and volunteered at local community gardens, which provided me with invaluable experience and a sense of fulfillment from growing my own food. I also in my free time walk dogs. I enjoy being outdoors and love even more being home- which is why I’d be excited to have my work at home!
Together, we are looking for a piece of land where we can combine our skills and passions to create a sustainable and productive farm. We envision growing a diverse array of crops and flowers, utilizing organic and environmentally friendly practices. Our goal is to contribute to the local food system, support community wellness, and foster a deeper connection between people and the food they consume.
We are excited about the prospect of finding the right piece of land to bring our vision to life and to continue our journey in sustainable farming. We would love to be mentored by a previous famer but not a deal breaker if you can’t. My dad has over 10 years of farming experience and is Egar to help.

Creating a safe and welcoming environment for people of diverse backgrounds is a cornerstone of our vision as farmers. We deeply believe that a strong, inclusive community is the foundation of a thriving and sustainable farm. We plan to ensure that our farm is a welcoming space for all by engaging with the community. We believe in the power of listening. We will establish open channels of communication where community members can share their ideas, concerns, and feedback. This ongoing dialogue will help us continuously improve and adapt our practices to meet the needs and expectations of our diverse community. We will also implement clear policies and guidelines that promote respectful behavior and prohibit discrimination, harassment, and any form of violence. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we recognize that in the end, it is all we have. By cultivating a space that is welcoming, inclusive, and safe, we hope to build a resilient and vibrant community that will thrive for generations to come.
