Hello! My name is Nikki and I currently own and operate a small market garden in California. My family and I, (wife, 1yo son and dog) are looking into a move to the Portland area, so I’m putting out some feelers to see if there are any potential opportunities for me to continue my work there. As of now I run a year round, mixed vegetable market garden operation on about 1/4 acre of leased land. I sell my produce to the local community through farm pickups, a delivery service and to local restaurants.
I’m interested in continuing to do something similar, of course dependent on available opportunities. I’d love to find a place where I can integrate myself into a community of likeminded, quality produce loving people. Ideally I would find some sort of lease option with housing and room to grow food for my family and the community. Open to a variety of opportunities, partnerships, etc.
Access to water, irrigation is a plus. Any sort of barn/structure for storage of tools and/or a place to wash/pack. Would appreciate land that has been farmed organically.
5+ years as a backyard gardener/homesteader, growing and preserving food for family and friends. Going on my 3rd season running a market garden.
