We are a married couple both in our late thirties/early forties and we have been married for 20 years. Robert has worked in hospitality for the same business going on 20 years and Korrie currently works as a tax accountant with the opportunity to work from anywhere with WIFI.
In 2019 we leased two acres of farmland as a first step to owning our own farm. We currently grow approximately one acre of hemp, although this is our first year with our own crop Robert has worked on farms over the years and has knowledge well past beginner level.
Our hope with leasing this land was to learn and establish a history of farming to enable us to purchase land and a home in Oregon.
We are looking for a self sufficient lifestyle and we are open to growing all types of crops. We have renovated two homes already, so we are open to challenges. We are extremely hard workers and now that our child is grown we are ready to follow our dreams!
We are looking for at least 3 acres with a home or homesite as well as irrigation rights. We are very interested in working with a mentor and would love the opppotunity to learn as much as someone is willing to teach us.
Electricity and irrigation are vitally important to us. The land would at least need to have the option for us to build a home and shop as well.
We have multiple years experience with backyard gardening. We have worked on indoor hydroponic farms and outdoor Christmas tree farms.
We are currently running our own industrial hemp farm. The set up of the farm included designing and installing an irrigation system, running electricity, preparing the field, creating plastic mulch rows by hand and growing 1,500 plants from seed.
We have experience with propagating plants as well as growing in greenhouses. We also have experience with organic practices and creating a nutrient feeding program.
In the first 5 years we would iike to establish a self sufficient lifestyle by growing hemp or other crops . We would hope to become a part of a community.
We would like to continue to grow in the community and use our experience to teach young people about farming.
We are a two person family and we would prefer a smaller home, however, we are open to all the options.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
