I am a recent college graduate from The Evergreen State College who is looking for 5-10 acres of organic land. I am certified in permaculture, and have a background in biodynamic systems for food, medicine, dye, and fiber crops. I began my agricultural studies at Oregon State University where I took several courses in soil science and sustainable agriculture. My goal is to create a sustainable homestead which can be a source for fresh food, as well as an educational resource to the community.
Water rights, organic certified or organic practiced land, woodland, pasture, electricity, on-site sewer.
I grew up ranching in south Texas, specifically managing wildlife such as white tailed deer and exotic animals. In the last five years, I have worked on a series of organic farms which produce vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs, flowers, beef, poultry, and eggs. Through my farming experience, I have gained knowledge in green house management, plant propagation, vegetable production, orchard management, irrigation, crop rotation, reading soil samples, supervising farm hands, and raising livestock. I gained experience in business and learned strategies by selling wholesale to grocery stores, and retail through CSA, farmer's markets, and events such as weddings.
The short term goal is to study the patterns of the landscape and design according to the functions of the natural environment. I plan to implement permaculture principles into system and invest in the longterm goal. For the first five years, establishing perennial systems and manipulating the earth in a wholistic manner, will provide a regenerative foundation to ensure the longevity of the system.
The long term goal is to have a completely regenerative system which can produce enough food for retail and wholesale markets while maintaining the ability to demonstrate the benefits of permaculture design.
One bedroom, one bath, full kitchen, washer and dryer.
