My name’s David, I’m a USAF veteran attending OSU studying applied ecology and a small scale regenerative chicken farmer. I’m looking to make improvements to local pastures through high density low duration pastured poultry grazing while starting a pastured chicken CSA. Some would call it Joel Salatin style chicken farming. I’m starting a farm store in Redmond soon and looking to include the pastured chicken CSA model as a local service. I’m also passionate about the regenerative agroecological side of it and want to study the improvements we can make to pastures through these techniques. Some variables I plan on studying that have been proven to improve with regenerative grazing include; improved water retention, longer roots, and more productive grasses.
