Seeking Lease with purchase option of 3+ acres along Oregon Coast

Land Seeker Description

Experienced farmers from GenX, Millennial, and GenZ make up our tight-knit familial group eager to leave the rat race and work hard for a more authentic, meaningful, and rewarding life. We have experience with livestock and crop production on a small to medium scale but we are willing to branch out and experience as much as we can of the holistic life. We are hoping for a plot of land with more than 3 acres to raise dairy and meat livestock in permaculture, free-range space. Grow a food forest of vegetable and fruit produce, herbs, orchards, and perhaps some flowers.

What features of the property are essential?

Hoping for land with possible existing structures for animal keep but would be comfortable building these. Would like a stream or pond. Comfortable with off-grid solar, water catchment, and compost capabilities. Would appreciate well and septic but not necessary. Hoping for woodland and pasture mix with partial flat land and capability for permanent structures. Would love to stay near the coast but would be happy to be inland in right rural area.

Describe your farming experience

We have 3 years farming experience on our current location and have maxed our zoned requirements for rural residential. We have 10 years aquaponics experience and over a decade with poultry and rabbits. We have experience working for large farms in youth-young adulthood and feel confident in our ability to care for all livestock animals successfully. We aspire to have rotational grazing and establish permaculture based farms.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

We have managed to max our farm within the first 6 months with nearly zero capital available. We are confident we can start swiftly or take part in an already established farm. We hope to have a thriving produce and flower garden with possible beekeeping and aquaponic station. We also can handle a myriad of livestock opportunities for dairy and meat. As well as possible food and cosmetic production.

What are your long term goals

We want to plant roots!!!! We would love to have the opportunity to create a permaculture farm and keep our farm successful through multiple generations!!

Describe your housing needs

We are open to nearly any scenario. We have lived in residential housing and off-grid in tents and in between. We are currently fixing up R.V.'s (trailer and motor home) so we can be independently housed but we are flexible. We currently consist of a GenX couple and a Millennial couple (with 2 GenZ boys and a 9 y.o. [homeschooled]) but if further hands are needed we also have an additional Millennial couple (with 3 children under 5 [homeschooled]) available.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

We love people. We encourage diversity. We want to be strongly involved in the community.
