Land Seeker Description

Hello, my name is Becca. I am 27 years old.

I am a beginner farmer with multiple years experience only through volunteer programs such as WWOOF, and a short time cultivating my own land. I am called to learn the ins and outs of land cultivation for growing both food and medicine. I am interested in fruit and vegetable growth and preservation (canning, fermenting etc.) and equally as intrigued by growing medicinal herbs to make my own healing remedies such as tinctures and tea blends. Also interested in medicinal mushrooms. Ideally, I would like to play a role in the community by bringing health/wellness and access to good food to my neighbors.

I would probably like to start on the smaller side as I’m just emerging into this field. I live with my long time partner and dog in a 27ft travel trailer (my partner Chris is also interested in land cultivation, mushrooms especially). I have been saving to purchase property for many years but have yet to find the perfect arrangement. We currently live in Northern California and are happy to relocate for an ideal situation. Willing to purchase land, lease-to-own and anything in between. Would love guidance from an elder farmer.  Could be open to bee keeping, livestock, wine, etc.

dates flexible as we have no real commitment at the time being.

I am currently considering schooling for an herbalism certificate as well which includes land cultivation

please contact me for more information, I am new to this site so I’m sure I missed a few important aspects!
