My Partner and I are looking for land to pursue our dream of providing food to the local community, while also educating and experimenting with effective Regenerative Organic farming practices. We believe farming has more potential than it currently is practicing, and we seek to find out where that potential lies. Our short term vision includes diverse vegetable production in conjunction with grains in a diverse crop rotation plan. We intend to restore soil fertility and cut the need to add nutritional inputs. Our long term vision includes the implementation of perennial foods, fruit and nut trees, and livestock. We truly believe that diversification is the key to a thriving farm and ecosystem.
Water rights, electricity, structures/barns, potentially refrigeration (but not necessity).
A mix of pasture and woodland.
Bianca was born and raised in northeast Pennsylvania. She cherishes her early childhood memories helping her grandfather in his 1/4 acre vegetable garden. She then started farming during college to better understand our food system. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture she continued farming, working primarily with Organic vegetable row crops, but also with chickens, perennial fruits, honeybees, and industrial hemp.
Ethan grew up working on his aunt and uncles grain and tobacco farm, which he still is actively engaged in discussing their current farming practices and what is happening in the industry. He has also helped establish operation of a large hemp farm in Central New York, including machinery operation, fertigation management, and custom equipment fabrication.
Establish a crop rotation of vegetables, grains, and cover crops. We'd like to grow less common vegetables varieties and quality grains to sell to local chefs, bakers, and brewers. We also would have a CSA and sell at farmer's markets. Our goal for land use is to use Regenerative Organic practices.
Establish a whole diet CSA with vegetables, whole grains, dry beans, and meat. We are also interested in doing restaurant sales and farmers markets.
We have a travel trailer, so we would only need electric and water hookups.
