Hello,

I was born and raised in the mid-Willamette valley where I grew up gardening, tending a small orchard and learning about permaculture principles. I have lived and worked on different types of small scale market farms which are homestead oriented. I have interests growing a small mixed vegetable market garden, an orchard, a “sally garden” or basket willow garden/hedge to source from to teach basket making and crafting workshops, a few goats or cows for a small dairy, laying and broiler hens, learning more and acquiring seed growing contracts for local vegetable seed companies, acquiring grow contracts to supply native plant nurseries, vegetable breeding, bee keeping, and more. I am curious and have many interests but am also realistic. I’m very open to other market ideas and suggestions.

What features of the property are essential?

Reliable water source for farm use and private well would be ideal. Access to wood lot would be great but not necessary. Land used organically ideal, certified organic unnecessary. Barn and tractor would be ideal.

Describe your farming experience

I have worked on many small homesteads with different specialty income sources. I have worked on 2 farms, one of which is a market farm selling produce at the Portland state farmers market specializing in greens and chicken, and another farm which has vegetable contracts for local schools alongside a native plant nursery and multiple seed crops.

Describe your housing needs

I have natural building experience and in a more simple world would want to build a small simple cabin and extend on to it over the years. I'm open to a small house but plan to have a family and would need more space as we grow.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

We are living in divisive times and knowing that I honestly try to be open and understanding to everyone I meet in the real world. Ideal land match relationship has a shared sense of values which transcend the material divisions.
