Seeking Lease-to-Own or creative partnership on Land Near Portland, OR

?

Land Seeker Description

I’m an experienced organic farmer and regenerative agro-forestry expert in the PNW bio region. I was certified in Permaculture Design in 2013 through Toby Hemenway (Author of Gaia’s Garden). I have owned and operated Indra’s Garden, LLC (DBA Sherrett Food Forest)  since 2013.

I am seeking land with long-term security on which I could create a food forest. I already have a 30 year contract with the city of Portland to create an urban food forest, and you can read about my project at sherrettfoodforest.org. My background is in social work and non-profit administration. I bring to the table 10 years experience with grant writing, and 8 years experience owning and operating my small farm business. My primary crops produced have been annual vegetables and perennial agroforestry crops which I sold through the CSA model (Community Supported Agriculture). I also have extensive experience with the agro-tourism aspect of farming – farm dinners, classes, and tours.

I am now searching for land on which I could both live with my family (myself, my partner, our 3 year old), and further my aims at food foresting the world. I’d be happy to talk further with anyone within 60 minutes of Portland, OR, about possibilities for lease-to-own, or a long-term land contract where I could have the security of developing these long-term agro-forestry projects.

What features of the property are essential?

water rights, on site well, irrigation potential, electric
