Seeking Lease-to-own option, small scale produce farming and chicken eggs

Land Seeker Description

I have been gardening vegetables and fruit and raising chickens for the past 9 years. The house and land I was leasing ended up getting sold and developed and I also went through a divorce. I now am seeking a similar situation with the option to potentially buy, lease to own would be wonderful. I just started my own business, and will need to wait 2 years until I can buy with a conventional loan. They require small businesses to record income for 2 years before being allowed to get a loan. I have good references and am very reliable. Our business is solid and doing well and I can pay the lease without concern. My goals are to get my hands back in the dirt,  and do year round gardens, greenhouse,  and produce enough vegetables and fruit to sustain ourselves and sell to others. I love to can and preserve as well, so jams and canned fruits, and fermented veggies will be done as well. In addition I would love to raise chickens again and sell eggs. We want our 4 children to learn how to do these things, be in 4H, and have the ability to learn practice these skills. I am located in Salem.

What features of the property are essential?

Housing or electricity and sewer/septic to support tiny homes. A storage shed or garage/shop would be needed for equipment.

Describe your farming experience

I have been gardening vegetables and fruit for the past 9 years. I was passionate about crop rotation and companion planting to benefit the crops and soil without the use of pesticides. I also have owned chickens for the same amount of time and am passionate about them as well. I use their manure and scraps and plant matter from the garden and trees and make my own compost, which I did successfully 3 years in a row. Never had to buy compost! I would like to continue this passion and share the bounty with others and teach my children this valuable skill

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Short term goals would be to develop consistent crops to grow and sell. Heirlooms will be the main focus, as they are harder to find in today's supermarkets. We also would sell pastured eggs.

What are your long term goals

Long term I would like to lease to own the land to make it ours and continue farming and growing food for ourselves, families, friends, and customers. The hope would be to contribute good healthy food to society and share this priceless experience with our children.

Describe your housing needs

I would need a 2-3 bedroom house, or the ability to construct tiny homes on the property. A shop/garage is a definite need or a storage shed, or ability to construct one.
