Land Seeker Description

We are a couple living in the Portland area and we are seeking land to start a market garden business using organic growing methods. Last season we managed a personal garden on about 1,700 square feet in SW Portland. Our garden was very productive with a large variety of vegetables including squash, beans, radishes, carrots, cucumbers, chard, kale, scallions, artichoke, peppers beets and tomatoes. We would be grateful for land that has been used as a garden with healthy organic soil that is located in or around the Portland area. We are willing to work land outside of the Portland area if it’s a good fit. We are interested in using high intensity, small farm, permaculture and organic growing methods. We have combined experience working on a vegetable farm in Gaston and personal gardens over the past four years and were looking to start our own market garden business this coming season.

What features of the property are essential?

We would need access to water for irrigation, healthy soil and hoophouses or room for hoophouses.
