Seeking lease-to-own: 5 acres plus in Oregon

Land Seeker Description

I am in my early 30’s and I am looking for property to start a commercial confinement meat goat operation. Ideal size would allow for 500 head minimum.

What features of the property are essential?

I need water for animals and full rv hook for me. I can easily adapt and make a property work.

Describe your farming experience

Over the last 15 years I have worked on several farms part time trading work for food raised on the farm. I worked full time a regular job and worked my off time on farms. Over the last ten years I have been working on my own farm plan. Working on various farms has allowed me to experience different types of farming. This has led me wanting to start a commercial meat goat farm.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

My goal is to have my meat goat operation up and operational inside 3 years and be ready for expansion by 5 years. Depending on the property size I will start with somewhere with a 400-700 head herd. The goal is to create a template for easy reproduction allowing for expansion.

What are your long term goals

The medium-term plan is to acquire a second, much larger piece of property to expand the herd size massively. My goal is to have 7,000 head by year seven and 10,000 head by year ten. Long term plan, 20 years plus, I hope to have farm to table restaurant and 100,000 head of goats.

Describe your housing needs

At a minimum I need a place for full fifth wheel/rv hook up. Anything above that is a bonus.
