Land Seeker Description

I’m a 4th year 1st generation 35 year old self taught farmer looking to continue growing my business. I enjoy building fences, raising animals, fixing/problem solving, working on shops/homesteads(fixing roofs being a specialty). I also enjoy growing vegetables and feeding people, turning land over to useable pasture, growing beneficials for bugs/bee population, rotating crops, using different cover crops to feed the soil.

What features of the property are essential?

Water rights, fencing, barns, power are most important.

Greenhouses, farm equipment, a house/cabin/mother in law would all be big bonuses

Describe your farming experience

I have experience in animal husbandry, row crop growing & greenhouse production, outdoor/greenhouse hemp production, turning fields over to production/utilizing cover crops. I’ve used all types of equipment and comfortable learning new ones as well. I’ve run wheel lines, handline, and drip irrigation, still have learning to do with all 3 but mostly comfortable with pumps/sprinkler systems.

What are your short term goals for the land

Grow crops and raise animals for meat/eggs to sell to the local market.
Establish a rotational plan for the land to utilize it in the best way.

What are your long term goals

Create a farm business that thrives in the central Oregon community.

Describe your housing needs

I would love to find a farm with a on site living situation for myself and I’m also a single dad. I share parenting time with his momma so a safe/comfortable spot for both of us would be more than appreciated.
