Seeking Lease or Purchase: 2+ acres & Housing in Lane County

?

Land Seeker Description

We (family of two with intentions to expand) are seeking a space to steward and steer toward abundant perennial food, primarily nuts and fruits, while also providing enough diverse nourishment for ourselves and frequent guests through a greenhouse, a quarter acre in rotational production, and a small flock of grazers + birds. In a perfect world, we’d like to be in full production within 3 years, so we’re envisioning space with established trees, infrastructure, and the opportunity to stay in contact and learn from the current owners. We don’t expect to find all this exactly, but we’re no strangers to compromise, ingenuity, and hard work as we strive towards these dreams! We would like help weave this space into the diverse regenerative focused communities that are regaining a foothold on the local landscapes and are excited to work in collaboration towards this future.

What features of the property are essential?

2+ acres and a home. Solar/on-grid. On-site sewer or septic. Mature(ing) orchard. Greenhouse/footprint. Shop/Barn/footprint. Well/water spigots in greenhouse + field/orchard. Paddocks with gates are a plus.

Describe your farming experience

4 year on farm teams (all organic CSA’s + market/restaurant markets), 5 years in sustainable ag programming/education/policy, 10+ years backyard gardening.

Are you currently farming?

Yes

What are your short term goals for the land

Live + grow in the same place! Via mentorship, as part of cooperative/collective, or on our own. Ideally on a location with the potential for a long term relationship, but a single season commitment will work too!

What are your long term goals

Robust community to share abundance and projects with. Education/Residency, nursery, farm stand/store, bed+breakfast will all be facets of the landscape long term. We envision stewarding in a manner resembling a silvopasture, permaculture food forest, an agroforestry or wild tending project.

Describe your housing needs

3 bed 2 bath dog friendly home preferred. Very flexible on more or less.
