My wife and I are newly Weds in our early twenties. We have been a part of a non-certified organic Co-op for the last six months, and we are looking to expand our businesses beyond what our current five acre arrangement can support. We are passionate about community, sustainability and cruelty free animal husbandry. We are needing more land to expand our operations. We currently run pigs, chickens and goats on pasture. We are saving up to start our own mobile butcher business, to make our farm more profitable by removing the need for a commercial slaughter facility for legal sales for human consumption. We dream of being able to keep more species, and increasing our level of production to alleviate our dependence on outside employment in the future.
Water is the key to most of what we need. Barns are a huge advantage but not essential. Majority Pasture is prefferred but not essential. Electricity is another advantage but we can discuss solutions if not available.
I am a Lifetime gardener, my personal experience has been in backyard farming with rabbits and chickens. My wife raised sheep, chickens, and horses as a girl, she went on to be a horse and dog trainer later in life. We have both been living and working on a diversified farming co-op for six months.
In the next five years we want to be selling
sustainable pasture raised meat for human consumption as our primary means of income.
We want to own our own property, or at least have a stable enough long term lease arrangement to set down roots and start a family on our own farm.
We are minimalists, access to running water and sleeping indoors is basically all we require for housing. We would consider living in a motorhome or trailer if we had the hook ups and lot available.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
