Seeking Lease Of Land And Housing For Farming Couple

Land Seeker Description

We are Thomas and Jenny and are looking to lease some property for basic farming. We have one cat, Mateo who is a mouser and will assist in rodent control. He is up to date with vaccines. We are interested in having a few ducks and goats to create an income along with an herbal garden, veggies and portable saw mill for lumber. We are a quiet couple who don’t drink alcohol or smoke but no issues with folks who do consume.

Overall, we are looking to establish a buisness and develop a way of living in the country. Thomas grew up on a small farm and has experience with farm work, some machinery and farm animals. Jenny has basic fundamentals and is eager to dive in and learn what she can!

What features of the property are essential?

We would need running water for farming and animal needs, the opportunity for creative imagination for the land. Let us develop what you aren't using! Wood land, ability to create pens and animal structures.

Describe your farming experience

Please refer to above.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Grow veggies, mushroom growing for food consumption, herbs for tinctures and salves, goat cheese and milk, duck eggs, milling lumber (potentially). Rent out goats for pasture clearing- we would have a few dairy goats and billy goats. We would also like to explore concepts with functional landscaping for aesthetic as well as catering to farming needs i.e. water for power, rain barrels for watering gardens, ponds and streams.

What are your long term goals

Much of the same as above with expanded knowledge of what works for our buisness model.

Describe your housing needs

Simple housing with basic amenities suits us fine. Please ok with one cat. 1-2 bedrooms is fine.

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

Our who goal is to assist people in the community who need help with projects on their property, food assistance, help with animals etc. We are both kind people who are open to different views and lifestyles of others. Do your thing, be kind.
