Hello! I am a 26 year old gardener living in Oregon City. I have worked with plants for a few years and have developed a passion for gardening, nursery work and all that comes with horticulture. In 2023, I will be enrolled in school pursuing a degree in horticulture and it has been a goal of mine to get to a place where I can start my own business. My plan is to acquire a small amount of land where I can grow flowers, vegetables and more. I want a greenhouse for perennials, shrubs and trees and an area for growing. I plan to participate in the Portland Flower Market and farmer’s markets. In the future, I plan to own land where I will have a small nursery and garden center.
Water rights, irrigation structures, electricity
I do not have much farming experience. I have gardening and nursery experience. I would really appreciate a mentor.
My short term plans are to grow flowers and have a booth at Portland Flower Market. Edenic and Lovely is the name of my business. I would also sell vegetables, flowers and plants at farmer's markets. I enjoy making floral bouquets and gardening, so I would hold workshops to teach the community.
My long term plan is to own land where I have an established business. I plan to make myself known by leasing land and move towards ownership when I gain customers. With my land, I want to have a small nursery with greenhouses and gardens. I plan to provide for the general public and small garden centers in the area.
Ideally, I would like to live on the land I am working on.
