Long time farmer with many years experience  raising cattle, laying hens, meat chickens,, turkeys and hogs. We are seeking pastureland to move our operations to.

What features of the property are essential?

Well water, electricity, livestock barns, hay storage. Water rights would be nice to have.

Describe your farming experience

Grew up on the family farm raising cattle, wheat, and hay. EFT the farm for about twenty years to work in town . Returned to the farm about twelve years ago to care for my elderly father. Rebuilt the farming operation to what it is today.

What are your short term goals for the land

*To find a meat processor to process our beef.

*To increase the cow herd in size to where we are producing a steady flow of about 20 market animals per year.

* Increase egg production to about 600 hens.

*Build an egg processing and storage area.

* Build enough livestock shelter so that all cattle are housed inside during the winter.

* Use a deep bedding method to capture animal waste during the winter for use as pasture fertilizer..

*Build or buy a lager mobile coop housing system for our free-range chickens.

*Increase turkey production to about 100 birds a year.

*Produce more of our own feed.
