Will try not to scare anyone …. 🙂 I am a first time farmer with a good business background, former CFO for a regional transportation company, and would like to lease or creatively partner with someone in the Salem, Corvallis, Waldport, Eugene area ( South of Portland. )
I am financially strong but fiscally conservative and will be involved in niche farming and selling in the Hemp arena. I am strategically trying to minimize risk with this project. Have a strong team including geneticist, a strong business model and team that will be able to market our products.
Would like to start with 20 – 50 acres this season and expect to expand that down the road. Greenhouses on site would be an added blessing and of course appropriate water rights and approvable water and soil conditions are required.

Appropriate water rights for the acreage requested, on site sewer, on site well, irrigation is an added benefit, barns and structures added benefit, certified organic would be a home run, electricity needed for some applications, soil type I am not sure of.
Rode on my grandpa's tractor and chased my grandma's chickens summers in the Midwest - no farming experience beyond that.
Will be strategic farming - have 2 strong revenue streams and seasoned geneticists and growers.
Hoping to be able to expand year over year over year, bring young people in to farming, save family farms, etc. etc.
Flexible housing needs - if there is housing for operations guy - great, if not that wouldn't be a hurdle.
