Seeking lease, lease to own, caretaking/managing acreage in OR (or surrounding states) for established Horse training & Sales business

Land Seeker Description

We are a mature married couple with an established business training & selling horses as well as some rescue work and rehabilitation. We’ve recently been approved to work with BLM horses and take in a few each year to train and find homes for.

I have a background in hunter/jumpers and dressage and a Bachelors in Equine Science (emphasis on pre-veterinary studies). I’ve completed working student positions for international and FEI trainers on both the east and west coasts and spent two years rodingnand training in Ireland. Recently I’ve backed away from competition and found a passion for rehabilitating troubled horses.

My husband is a self proclaimed “saddletramp” and had made his living out of the saddle since his teens. He has a gift for handling some of the roughest/wildest horses I’ve ever seen and has found his calling in helping horses with people problems 😉

we have two boys ages 20 and 22 who both help us run the business along with our 10 year old daughter who isn’t as horse crazy as the rest of us but doesnt mind hard work and barn chores 🙂

we currently lease 3000 acres outside of mount Vernon oregon and though we live the place, it is too remote for most clients and buyers to easily get to us. We don’t have any desire to be in or around the city, but we’d love a more central location.

Ideally we are looking for a minimum of 20 acres though we can make due with less. In excess of 100 or more would be amazing. We have experience with haying, irrigation and cattle operations. We are no strangers to hard work and putting elbow grease Into fixing up a place. My husband was a successful contractor for the better part of a decade and still had his tools so we can even build new or rebuild existing structures.

if you have a place needing hands and livestock, we are your family!
