I am a semi-beginning farmer from Minnesota, looking to start farming in Oregon! I used to work on a small 25 acre sustainable farm in MN, and I am wanting to get back into farming. I am looking for land to grow vegetables, microgreens, herbs and possibly some perennials! I prefer to use a sustainable and biodynamic approach and will work on building your soil quality! I have very little money, so I would like to trade in whatever way I can – I can grow vegetables, increase your soil quality, or even help you on your farm. I have a lot of passion for farming and would love to get back into it!
Access to water for irrigating crops and a shed for storage or permission to build. Also, It would be nice to have growable soil, if not, I can work on it to make viable. Area for composting also ideal.
I worked as a volunteer on a small sustainable community farm. I worked there full-time every summer on a diversified vegetable and berry farm. I helped with the transplanting, seeding, harvesting, hand weeding, and also with greenhouse management.
My short- term plans is to focus on growing high value and fast production crops on 1 acre to sell commercially either to restaurants or at farmer's markets. I would also like to grow vegetables for myself and for trade, ideally. Would like to raise chickens as well, or work on a farm that has chickens.
My Long term plan is to be growing on 5-10 acres and to continue growing high value crops commercially, while still growing vegetables for personal use. Other long terms goals is to incorporate some animals (poultry for sure and maybe goats) on the farm as well as perennials such a berries and hops.
