I am 43 and my wife is 40 we are looking to get our hands back in the dirt. We both have years of farming experience in the hemp industry but want to try our hand now growing vegetables and selling at Farmstand and farmers markets.
We do not currently have the means to install infrastructure so water rights or a well or public utility will be a necessity. We will also need access to electricty. We would prefer certified organic land but we are open to all possibilities. We don't require but would not reject any structure type on the property.
My wife and I have around 6 or 7 years farming in the hemp and marijuana industry and have been integral parts in all facets of the industry from grunts to setting up a multi million dollar warehouse facility, writing all S.O.P's and training procedures as well as designing warehouse flow and training all employees across multiple positions.
We have 3 or 4 crops we want to start immediately. At least 2 of those crops will take about 2 years to fully propagate and begin to start turning a profit and 1 or 2 crops we can start seeing a return on (even if a small one) in our first season or 2. Within 5 years our goal is to have at least 5 acres of grow space (not grow footprint) producing 4 to 6 crops that each turn a profit of $100k/yr.
Our long term goal is to be not only profitable but charitable and ultimately want to also teach others and help others get their hands back in the soil growing for themselves and their communities.
We just bought a newer travel trailer to live in on the farm site we find with the hopes of building a tiny home that is more permanent or possibly a yurt depending on the situation. We are really open to any situation that is safe and healthy and within our means.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
