Century Forage Management Inc. is a small family-owned grazing operation seeking to partner with land owners who want to improve their soil health through the use of effective animal grazing practices. As a family with close ties to this county and to agriculture, we are working to improve soil health for the benefit of future generations. We do this by using stocker cattle in combination with high-density, rotational grazing practices, and by selecting perennial forage species suited for optimal animal and soil health.
We are currently seeking 150+ acres of irrigated farmland (tillable or not) in order to grow our operation and benefit land owners whose goals align with ours.
water rights, irrigation structures (hand pipe, wheel line or pivot), pasture or grazeable crop land.
My husband is a 3rd generation farmer with a degree in Ag Economics from the University of Idaho. He has over 20 years experience working in this sector, on the family farm and with other operations. He and I have been co-owners of the family farm since 2018. We have experience with cow-calf, heifer breeding and development, stocker calves, backgrounding, and working with feedlots. Farming experience includes planning for and selecting cover crops, grass mixes, etc, and all aspects of planting, harvest, and irrigation on over 300 acres of crop land. We also have experience in risk management with commodity futures.
We’d love to work with land owners to develop a plan that meets their goals.
Possible goals include:
- increase soil organic matter and water holding capacity
- increase diversity of plant and wildlife species
- improve infrastructure and fencing
- increase carrying capacity
- consider land purchase opportunities
- infrastructure improvements/replacement or new construction
Housing would be great as we have three small children, but is not a requirement.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
