Hello,
Myself Aparna Elango. I currently live in cooper mountain area, Beaverton. I started gardening couple of years ago and totally fell in love with it.
I am looking for a land to lease. I am open to options like leasing for trade or partnership. I am planning to start small like utilizing 1/2 acre out of 2-3 acres and eventually expand over the years. Over the span of 1-5 years I am planning to become expert at a certain crop, growing them organically and selling it to local restaurants and in Farmer’s market. I want to grow both vegetables and flowers. Depending upon the market growth will course correct. I am looking for a farm land which is close by to my home so that I can drive back and forth.
Thanks,
Aparna.

I have been homesteading for couple of years now. I grow most of my vegetables that is more than sufficient for me and my family. This year I experimented growing more varieties and it was fun.
First year - Setup the farm. This would include setting up permanent beds to grow, compost, Irrigation and Draining, growing vegetables and flowers.
Getting Organic certification. Documenting the entire process in YouTube. Setting up social media marketing platforms (Instagram, tiktok and so on.)
Second year - Reaching out to restaurants, selling in farmers market and CSA.
Third year and so on - I am planning to invest all the profits that I make from the first couple of years and expand the farm to all the 2-3 acres. Selling in large scale. Hopefully by third year I am visualizing myself in a spot where I can quit my full time job and do full time farming.
Long term I want to move to selling seeds, selling tubers, writing books, creating workshop where I teach on my learning.
I would not need housing. I am planning to live in my current home and commute.
Yes. Myself being an immigrant, I want to inspire a lot of people and encourage people of diverse backgrounds to reach their potential too.
