I represent a 501c3 non-profit which is seeking to find a place to rent to farm organic produce, for free distribution in the community. The farm would also serve as a place for our to park our outreach RV when not in use, as well as provide an open-air library for farming education. Reach
Water will be needed, but we could build a raincatch if necessary in the event that water is not available. Not needed but helpful, would be a sewage/septic outlet, as well as electricity (charge RV batteries when not in use). We would pay extra for these, of course, but really all we need is the land; lack of utilities could be worked around.
We have a variety of volunteers with a range of farming experience. Some work professionally as farmers and gardeners, others are total newbies.
We want to create a space where our volunteers can meet and interact in a safe, socially distanced way, while getting to know more about farming and begin to plant and tend to initial seasons worth of crops. We are well financed by community donations, so that our farm doesn't need to be financially generative immediately.
Building a vibrant farming education community, which brings food to marginalized people in the city, and fuels a commercial kitchen operation elsewhere in the Portland area.
This would be a non-residential space, only used for farming and parking the RV.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
