Seeking land /water for my small nursery business

Land Seeker Description

Hello there! I am a farmer/grower. I have been residing on the land I now live on in Aurora for 3 years now- and found it on Farmlink. The original plans for me to farm here have been eclipsed by the owners selling the property. I received a grant for a USDA/NRCS high tunnel and erected a 30×70 that I now have to leave on site. I had a small CSA the first year while working on putting in all the infrastructure I needed to grow cut salad greens and culinary herbs. Due to major irrigation issues last year that were out of my control, I was prevented from putting crops in and switched gears to nursery stock.  I grow mostly drought-tolerant native species of plants but also medicinal herbs and other things to local nurseries and am looking for a new place to live and continue this small business, now that the property is being sold.  I have a B.S. in Agriculture and have farmed for many years, used to c0-own a farmers market in PDX, and am also a Licensed Massage Therapist with my own practice in Aurora. It’s just me and my farm kitties- I work a lot as a small business owner and would have to build back my nursery stock because of all of the recent transitions. The stock takes months to years to grow. I am looking for land with water access, preferably well-water but am open to discuss the cost of water and also a place to live/dwelling, preferably in a more rural quiet setting. Access for a truck to dump compost would be a great benefit. Open to work trade. Can send lots of references, resume, etc! I am not sure I would consider getting back into growing other crops in ground-it would depend on site and set-up. Thank you for considering!

What features of the property are essential?

Water, preferably well, access for dump truck to deliver compost. Greenhouse is a plus. Flat area for nursery stock.

Describe your farming experience

Hello! I have a B.S. in Ag/Hort from New Mexico State. Have worked on many Organic farms in New Mexico and Oregon. I have also had 2 farm businesses, one in Boring and current in Aurora. I have also co-owned and ran a farmers market in PDX. I have grown medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, vegetables, ran a CSA, operated tractors, landscaped, put up greenhouses, received 2 USDA/NRCS high tunnel grants and grow nursery stock now.
