My husband and I are looking for land to farm around or outside of the Portland area, either for purchase or lease to own. We currently own and operate a construction company that brings in good income and are working towards our dream of starting a farm, specifically green house nursery for vegetable production and nursery stock. We also are interested in regenerative grazing of red angus cattle, depending on available grazing land, as well and chickens (which we already have), pigs and possibly hair sheep for meat production. We are looking for land that has a house available or one we can fix up and live in while we work the land. We’re are very open to a neglected farm as well, since we enjoy fixing and beautifying land. We have 4 small kids and want them to grow up on a farm and learn the reward of working hard in the soil. My husband’s family were farmers and ranchers for 7 generations and we want to get back to that way of life. We understand business operation and logistics, efficient production, marketing, and sales. (541)-729-6291
House, water, electricity, dirt, room to grow and/or graze livestock and have a few greenhouses. Within 40 min or so from Portland area. Mostly open but some forest is ok.
Grew up in Texas on a cattle ranch, and southern willamette valley on farm lands north of junction city.
Fed cattle, bucked hay, grew veggies, ran community garden, raised chickens and sold eggs, been in the landscaping and construction business for 20 years as well so we know how to build, repair and fix most anything.
To set up 3 to 4 high tunnel greenhouses and get the produce business going, and start smaller livestock like chickens, pigs, sheep. Recoup grazing land if need be.
Initial business set up
Maybe 6-8 greenhouses if space allows, part ownership in a local butcher shop to process and market meat product.
Farm store offsite somewhere to sell veggies and plants. Possibly direct delivery to restaurants and community.
Expand farm on leased or purchased land
We’re a family of 6 so at least 3 beds, two baths would be great, but we can easily build on or add a bath ourselves as we do that for work and know the codes and work with most of the building departments around the area
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
