We are a small team of young farmers with local agricultural experience seeking to produce food and fibers using organic practices we have learned in our farming careers. We are looking for a piece of land with workable soil to raise livestock for fiber production and meat, as well as a plot for crop production to be sold at markets, create value-added products, and be used for local dining experiences. We are still figuring out exactly what we want this to look like, and hope that being able to communicate with land holders and other farmers on this platform will help that process.
Water rights/well, housing, arable soil, pasture, electricity.
Each of has at least 3 years of experience working on vegetable and livestock farms in Oregon, California, Vermont, and other states.
Short-term goals are gaining experience in managing and being in an ownership role at farm, as all of us have been in crew/employee roles only. We would like to provide food and fiber to the community, increase community engagement with their local food system, and dig deeper into personal farming goals that we have individually and as a group.
In the long term, we are interested more in land ownership and honing in on more specialized types of farming that we see as needed in the community, profitable to give ourselves living wages, and establishing ourselves as a community space that can be used beyond just production farming.
A house with 3-4 bedrooms.
Absolutely.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
