I am an experienced farmer, who is currently working a non-farming job in the city of Portland. I am looking to rent land and a house in the Portland outskirts, so that I can work on developing the skills and resources to eventually start a farm business. The minimum amount of space I am looking for is 1/4 acre. I am also interested in renting a 1 or 2 bedroom house. I am mostly looking for space to grow vegetable seed crops. I would love to close to North Portland, but I am open to all areas surrounding Portland. I am friendly and cooperative, and happy to share space with others. I enjoy being involved in the sustainable farming community in the Portland area, and I enjoy building community through food and agriculture.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

My farming experience includes a few years working as a viticulturist in the wine industry (including a bachelors degree in viticulture and winemaking). I have 4 years of experience as a field hand / farm manager on organic vegetable farms in the Pacific Northwest. This experience includes orchard development and management, and livestock management including goats, poultry, cattle and hogs.
My plans are to work on a small piece of land to develop my skills in growing vegetable seed crops, and possibly a few animals if possible. I hope to hone my skills on a smaller space before starting a business.
My long term plans are to acquire property and start a farm business that includes growing seed crops, orchard, and possibly pasture raised animals.
I am seeking a space that includes housing for my partner and me, and our one small indoor/ outdoor cat. We are looking to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom house.
I will continue to volunteer with the group Western Farm Workers Association. I hope to grow enough produce to share with my community. I will not use pesticides, herbicides, or other harmful chemicals. I will act as a good steward to the land.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
