Seeking Land for Home Based Farm Preschool

Land Seeker Description

I‘m a former homesteader who moved to the city to become a preschool teacher.  I’ve learned and worked on my craft as the Lead Guide in both a Montessori infant classroom, and the Two‘s classroom at the German International School, and after two years of pandemic work, I’m ready to move onto creating my own vision for early learning.

My husband is a trained chef with 20+ years of experience, and he is currently obtaining his AA in Early Childhood Education through PCC. Together we have more than a decade of homesteading experience, including:

gardening, foraging, a large laying flock of chickens, raising and processing chickens, ducks, turkeys and rabbits, canning and preserving foods, and trying to live as sustainably and low impact as possible.

I have a group of parents who are incredibly interested in helping us found such a school, more than we can take on by ourselves! We also know a few incredibly talented and caring Montessori trained teachers who are also interested in our vision, but we need a place to build our learning community.

I am seeking a long-term lease or lease to own acreage in the Washington county area, on which I can own and operate a Montessori inspired, bilingual farm preschool.
My vision includes a large garden, a small pasture and barn for chickens, sheep and rabbits, an area to build a small school house and outdoor kitchen, work sheds, and a home where my family and I can manage the day to day chores of the farm.
I intend to start a student led flower farm and apiary if there is enough land.

I am able to charge between $1,700 and $2,200 per child, and already have 5 spots filled, and another teacher interested in joining our school!

What features of the property are essential?

Must have room for chickens, large garden, pasture. Must be livable and have basic utilities.
