Seeking Land Caretaking position or lease-to-own on 10+ acres in Central or Southern Oregon

Land Seeker Description

We are a conscious couple (ages 42 & 52) who are on a healing journey committed to spreading the Light & helping people with their healing needs. We have been moving around our entire lives and we wish to build our dreams while care-taking on some land long term, preferably with the option to own the land in the future. We wish to be in an area that is rural, away from any populated areas, that hasn’t been sprayed with pesticides, and where we can live mostly off-the-grid. We are planning to purchase a Geodesic dome to live in, which would be powered by DC solar power. We have additional plans to build a shower/sauna house, a wood-fired hot tub with a cold plunge, an outdoor kitchen and a separate space with an electrical hookup to charge our electrical vehicles, computer and power our Rife machines for colloidal making purposes. We wish to get a greenhouse space for plant starts & winter food crops; as well as a retreat space to provide various healing modalities to people with a sliding scale or work trade. In addition to the greenhouse space, we wish for several acres of land to use for organic no-spray food and herb production, as well as pasture for horses and a few acres of high CBD hemp. We also want to raise meat rabbits, and have ducks or chickens for eggs and pest control. We want to grow medicinal and culinary mushrooms. We may also utilize goats for blackberry control and raw dairy. We would like power access on site, as well as landline access. We want water rights from either a well or a mountain spring. Some forested wild land would be ideal. We are also open to the idea of an opportunity with a land owner who wants to remain on the land.

We have stellar references, we are trustworthy, hardworking, self-motivated & self-organized self-starters. Our large skill set includes tractor work, engine repair/maintenance, minor electrical & plumbing, framing, siding, roofing, painting, architectural stained glass, orchard maintenance, pruning, trim work, harvesting, planting, garden/greenhouse care, farm animal care for horses, sheep, goats, livestock, ducks, chickens, family pets; drainage & irrigation, seed starting, transplanting, fence repair and much more.

Projects we are interested in are construction of pyramids to promote plant growth, increase yields & remove soil, water and air pollutants, rocket mass stove heater, a wood-fired hot tub, walipini, geo-thermal climate system under the dwell dome, passive solar, growing medicinal herbs + extractions, bringing rarer foods and herbs to farmers markets and creating a safe healing retreat space for like-minded individuals to come to help them heal themselves. We just want to help as many people as possible.

Personal interests include yoga, crystals, energy healing, qi gong, foraging, making colloidals, cooking, hiking, hot springs, music and spending time outside. We have a beautiful indoor/outdoor 2 year old female Bengal who is an exceptional mouser.

We are interested in a long term living arrangement or a lease-to-own/work-trade to own care-taking opportunity. We are available to move this spring 2019. We are interested in going to Southern Oregon or staying in or near the central to southern coastal range. Cave Junction area seems especially appealing. We are currently located in Deadwood Oregon and can be available to meet over the phone or in person to discuss opportunities.

What features of the property are essential?

Water rights, either a private well or a natural mountain spring, a creek or river, on-site electrical service (power is already installed), pasture, wild no-spray forested land, no-spray/no pesticides used land

Describe your farming experience

In addition to our large skill set, Sequoyah has over 30 years experience working with horses and training them, specializing in working with rehabs, rescues and young horses, with trail riding, endurance and dressage. She has been a professional animal caretaker for 28 years with several clients being farm owners who need their farm and animals taken care of when they go out of town.

Sequoyah has been growing her own food and herbs since a child. I always had a garden on our deck or outside of my room. In college I got into growing my own herbs and doing a potted food garden. In Portland, Oregon I always grew herbs and food and I had space in a community garden and helped friends with their gardens. At each work trade situation, I have had access to a garden space where I could keep growing some potted food and herbs. I have always had a large house plant collection and I currently raise Aloes and other succulents. When given the opportunity and the space, I am an amazing grower and I am excited to see my potential as a plant growing specialist.

May 2017 - mid-June 2017 - work trade on a farm in Seal Rock, OR. Duties included assistance with feeding horses and chickens, horse exercise, teaching riding lessons, cleaned tack collection, egg collection, painting the pasture fence, deep cleaning stalls and horse barn, cleaned rubber mats, built large planter boxes, soil infill, cleaned the rust off of metal stalls in barn, dismantled a cow post, house cleaning for land owner, pet care for owners.

June 2017-Dec 2018 Completed a farm work trade position in Deadwood, OR for a land owner. Primary duties included: all animal care (3 ducks, 2 horses, 1 dog, 1 cat, 5 ewes plus 1 ram + 5 lambs), sheep herding, hay bucking, pond cleaning, stall cleaning, tractor work, fencing repair, mowing, orchard pruning, blueberry orchard trimming/spring prepping, garden care including watering, weeding, planting, plant starts, seed starting, pruning and harvesting; pulling thistles, pulling/eradicating blackberries, remodeling a barn living space, firewood stacking/harvesting, weed whacking, digging holes, tree care, errands, farrier assistance, burn piles, dump runs, leaf raking, debris clearing and keeping a Rhododendron garden kept up

Dec 2018-Feb 2019 - work/live trade on an off-grid spot in Deadwood, OR. I also did two separate land sitting jobs here last summer when the owners were away. Duties included cat care, watering their food and herb garden and making sure there were no issues with the natural spring system that provides them with fresh water for drinking and their garden. While living there this year, I assisted with kitchen cleaning, window repairs, leaf mulching the garden and some weeding. My partner assisted them with some roof repairs during the big snow storm and some electrical work on their solar power system and yurt electrical system.

What are your short term goals for the land

Projects we are interested in are construction of pyramids to promote plant growth, increase yields & remove soil, water and air pollutants, rocket mass stove heater, a wood-fired hot tub, walipini, geo-thermal climate system under the dwell dome, passive solar, growing medicinal herbs + extractions and bringing rarer foods and herbs to farmers markets. a healing retreat dome where we provide a variety of healing modalities to people who are wanting to heal themselves, building an orgone cloud buster to help clear the air of any and all pollutants. We also want to play around with using hydro-electric and water for a food cooling system

What are your long term goals

All we want to do is grow all of our own food and herbs so that we don't have to rely on super markets and other farmers to provide us with nourishing organic produce and herbs to make our herbal remedies. We want to heal mother nature and use scalar wave and crystal energy technology to heal the planet, the soil, air, water, people and animals. Eventually we want to have younger like-minded conscious people come live on the land with us and eventually take over what we've been doing with it. We want to put the land in a trust, so that after we are gone, our dreams and our journey will continue to help as many people as possible.

Describe your housing needs

We need a large enough space to put a 24' geodesic dome. We want a composting toilet system and a solar powered shower with a propane heater for winter use. We would like additional space for friends who want to come camp as well as an additional dome that can be used as our retreat healing space. Land that comes with a living structure already available would be great, so that we can live there and focus on building our dome and other structures. A tiny house, small cabin or yurt would be very suitable but we are open to other options.
