I work with the African Community in Portland Oregon providing hands-on farming training on how to grow African food and produce in the NW climate. The food that is grown on this educational incubator-type of farm feeds the families that are part of this training program and the rest gets distributed to other African community members experiencing food insecurities and who have no access or source for foods from their homeland. I am looking to lease 10 + acres of land to expand our growing space and allow more African community members a space where they can learn and practice how to grow more culture-specific foods to feed their families and also help feed other community members in need of familiar foods from their homeland.
Water, and Electricity.
I have 25 years of farming experience, growing a variety of plants and vegetable in Africa for commercial purpose. I continue expanding my farming experience here in the U.S learning how to farm with the North West climate for 7 years now.
My short term goal is to keep farming and producing culture specific foods for the African community.
My long term goals is to eventually be able to buy land to keep farming and continue helping my community weather it is by distributing food, or teaching them the ways to farm and grow their homeland's food.
Ideally would like to secure farmland with housing and infrastructure but the land is more essential to continue our work and we are open to work with the right property and landowner that would welcome our vision and support our work feeding the community.
I believe having a clean and well organized land space creates a welcoming environment for everyone. Communicating clear expectations and responsibilities with landholder and everyone working on the property is key to creating and keeping everyone working in harmony for a healthy environment where everyone can feel safe and welcome.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
