Highly skilled carpenter/ contractor looking for small to medium farming ranching opportunity. I have spent the last 10 years as a ranch facilities manager for one of Colorados largest ranches. My son graduates this May and we both have a strong desire to relocate to Oregon this summer. I have visited Newport, Astoria and most of oregon every year ( minus 2020) sense the 80’s and my son has been to Oregon numerous times and I have to say he is impressed by the irrigation systems in that area.
I grew up on my family’s farm in northwest Colorado, we had extensive poultry, swine and bovine operations. My mother had amazing vegetable, flower gardens and hot houses and I spent a lot of time with her learning.
I spent most of my adult career working as a carpenter / facility caretaker. Volunteer firefighter/EMT. My son and I have ran our own poultry and swine side business for the last several years. We sold our last pig last fall. My son is currently a senior in High school and also getting his welding certifications at this time.
We are relocating due to the short 56 day grow season we have here, the ski resorts have completely chased local farm and ranching out. Land is incredibly expensive. For Example the ranch i worked on was on the market for 100 million, the neighbors sold for 27 million and 25 million.
