Seeking 2-5 acres to start a biodynamic, no-till, mushroom + medicinal herb/root/vegetable farm

Land Seeker Description

My name is Angela and my partner, Jade, and I are looking for a few acres to lease to start our dream farm.

We intend on growing mushrooms through log + wood-chip methods as well as creating no-till beds for the cultivation of medicinal herbs, roots, and vegetables.

Together, we have a few years of both mushroom and organic vegetable farming behind us.

Our ideal property would allow us to live on the land using a camper or tiny home that we would provide.

If your property has some sort of housing on it, though, that would be incredible!

Our two small dogs would be joining us.

Looking for something long-term.

Open to work trades, but mostly interested in a lease for cash arrangement.

What features of the property are essential?

On-site well! Electricity would be nice

Describe your farming experience

Angela -
Apprentice on organic vegetable, fruit, and herb farm for 2 seasons.
Managed a rare plant shop where we propagated our entire inventory.
Current part-time intern on an urban, non-profit, seed farm.
Current farmer’s market employee for spagyric ashwagandha root tincture company.

Jade -
2 years as lead employee on a gourmet mushroom farm
Current lab manager for a spagyric medicinal mushroom tincture company.

Are you currently farming?

What are your short term goals for the land

Become self-sufficient, work for the earth, provide to the community, be in harmony with the universe

What are your long term goals

Remain a small and intentional biodynamic farm with an emphasis on community education.

Describe your housing needs

We need the ability to park a camper/tiny home on the land.
If the property offered some sort of structure for housing, that would also be incredible!

What will you do as a farmer to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone on your farm and in your community?

Stay intentional and remain good communicators.
Respect the land and others.
