My wife and I operate Newland Ranch, just north of Molalla, and raise registered Hereford cattle, pastured poultry, holiday turkeys and farm raised pork. We retail our products off of the farm on a per cut basis to the general public. This is a cow/calf operation at our home property but need additional acreage to carry our yearlings. We do bring animals back to Newland Ranch for finishing 90 days prior to harvest. A core value is to be good stewards of land and resources under our management. And, we work to provide the best quality of life for our livestock. We are seeking 10 to 20 acres of pasture ground to graze our yearling herd, but would consider as few as 5 acres depending on key condition. The property must have sound fencing, although we can handle some repair and management of fencing over time … a negotiable item. The property must also have some type of cover, whether trees or a safe structure, and good clear water. I’m currently leasing 7 acres but the property is up for sale and my lease expires at the end of July 2019. I am currently the President of the Oregon Hereford Association.
Fenced, power for electric fencing is desired, water for livestock (well or stream), cover in the form of trees or structure (barn) as protection from weather and elements, within 15 miles of Molalla is desired.
I was raised on sheep ranches and we had a few cows.
Find pasture land to run mixed steer/heifer herd of 5 yearlings, and possibly some cow calf grazing to take pressure off our home ranch pastures.
Build a rotational herd of registered Herefords based on a cow/calf operation and retailing packaged meat from one to three animals each month out of our on-Ranch store at our home place, Newland Ranch, located just north of Molalla on Hwy 213.
We are not in need of housing.
To contact a land seeker, you must first create a land listing and have it approved by our staff. Thank you.
