Land Seeker Description

Hi! I raise multipurpose meat and fiber sheep and have a business selling wool and wool products. I am looking for pasture and shelter for my sheep as the farm I am currently residing on is being put up for sale to pay for nursing home care for the owner. I would love to be able to find a part-time caretaker agreement as well. I have a tiny home that can be utilized for my living space but would also like the use of part of a shop for processing fiber/wool.  I have 10+ years raising sheep and goats and and providing care for them as well basic on the farm medical care, shearing, feeding and training. I have a few online streams of income to help pay the bills and am running a small online business with wool sales and marketing. I am very proficient in online marketing and would love to find a situation where I could help market the products on your farm to increase revenue. I have good references and am reliable and hard working.

What features of the property are essential?

Barn/shelter, electricity, pasture, water

Describe your farming experience

I have been raising livestock since 2008 and am able to provide medical care, design nutritional feeding programs, shear and process wool from the sheep. I have started an online business selling wool and fiber to hand spinners as well as marketing and networking with other farmers to promote selling products online. I have shown goats and sheep at livestock shows and am familiar with conformation, genetics and fitting animals for show.

Are you currently farming?

Yes

What are your short term goals for the land

My online business is growing fast, my current need to find a new lease space was just bad timing. My short term goals are to build a profitable business selling yarn, wool and craft products online through monthly online sales (this is already happening ) and expanding. to selling farm products such as goats milk soap, jams and jelly as well as pickled products. I am very skilled in Social Media Marketing and have spent the last year helping growing a facebook community called 'Wool and Fiber Arts". I am on the marketing team of this group and produce a monthly publication for the vendors.

What are your long term goals

Long term goals would be to market the sheep breeds that I raise to the urban homestead looking for a multi-purpose animal for their homestead. I would also like to build a fiber and fiber arts business that includes workshops, training and possibly an in house fiber mill.

Describe your housing needs

I would like to find a small cabin or spot I could park my tiny home. I would also need access to electricity and water. Would prefer use of a space that I could process wool and fiber. I would like my sheep and a few dairy goats to have shelter as well as a space to set up my milking machine so I can milk my goats.
