Hello! My name is Kyle Leslie-Christy, I started a sustainable landscaping redesign & build company 3 years ago after I noticed the large prevalence of unused or nonfunctional used of green space in residential areas located in inner Portland and the surrounding areas. Over the years I have worked on countless properties, with a drive to make a social change, and now manage 3 1/8 acre gardening spaces at different areas around my home in NE Portland. I have experience leading the student government of Portland State and having recently graduated, seem to be in the perfect position to utilize my skills learned in and out of my college experience. I have also become interested in herbalism, and have recently dabbled in making herbal teas, salves, and lip balms from the flowers and other herbs grown in my garden spaces. I would like to eventually have a company that locates and transforms different residential yard spaces into urban farms growing produce and products for sale at local Saturday markets. This company would become learning gardens and partner with any local schools to provide opportunities for young people to learn how to grow food, make their own herbal remedies, and learn the business side of urban agriculture. These are all long-term goals. For now I would just like to have one place that is quite a bit larger where I can grow food for sale at a Saturday market alongside other herbal remedies and specialty goods made from the flowers and herbs also grown in that one garden place. I am willing to call and chat or meet in person to discuss any options at any time. My phone number is 5034909034. I really appreciate you.
water, space, irrigation structures?, some processing/drying structure?, woodland, certified organic?
I have experience growing multiple vegetables, flowers, and herbs. I like to grow using companion planting methods to maximize space, health of the plants, and decrease a reliance on extrinsic fertilizers.
I would like to create an herbary, a learning garden of sorts to leverage federal and state grants, and partner with the local community markets to grow specialty goods or rare food items.
I would like to talk with the land owner about sale of the land to me, also discuss putting the land in an indigenous land trust, creation of a established food forest, and really standardize growing and harvesting methods.
Currently in a rental, depending on location I may be open to moving
